Tatiana's Book Corner Newsletter - January 12th

❄️Happy 2026!❄️

Every year, it feels like January should be a quiet time. A time to reflect about the year left behind and the new year ahead. This year, it feels like time is flying by and I am not sure how to stop it. In a few days, we will be half way through January.

I have goals for 2026. The first and most important goal is to get more books published. I published one book in 2025. It is not enough. For an indie author, it is outright tragic. I counted my half written books in December. I have 32 half written books. I need to finish as many as I can this year. This year, writing and publishing has to be my focus.

It has been a bumpy start to the year for those of us living in the United States. As I made the banner in Canva this morning, I was trying to find a good slogan to put on it. The truth is that it feels a little hollow to be cheerful. I am not particularly cheerful but determined to continue doing my work.

My theme for the year is fear. I need to look at the fear that keeps those 32 books unpublished and unfinished. I need to look at the uncomfortable conversations that make writing the least of my priorities. I need to learn to speak about my work and stop freaking every time I post something on Tik Tok. It is time.

What are your goals for this new year?

🎁Tatiana's Book Corner Giveaway 🎁

For those of you who are just discovering my newsletter, every month I have a giveaway of twelve paperback books. I announce the winners the next month and send out the books every 6th of the month.

Every book I choose was either written by me or I desperately want to read. Since I buy one copy to give away and one copy for me, it ends up being a wonderful way to increase my reading selection. Like so many authors, I love books and reading more than anything else in the world. In the future, I would love to do a more active book club. I just haven't had the time to do it.

The winners are announced in the newsletter at the end of each month or beginning of the next month. I send out the books on the 6th of each month.

IMPORTANT NOTE - I changed some things about the form to make my life easier. To choose which books you want to possibly win, you have to click on the box under the title of the book, above the description. As always, you can select all of the books. Each book is treated as its own giveaway. I allow only one person to win each book, so that one person doesn't get all of the books. I only allow one entry. If you fill out the form more than once, it only counts as one entry. All books are bought by me and sent via Amazon to the winner on the 6th of each month. I need your address so that I can mail the books to the winners. I detele the forms after the giveaway is over and the books are mailed. Thank you!!!

🎁February 2026 Giveaway🎁

I decided to add a bit of a note as to why I chose the books I did in each newsletter.

The Women Who Stand Between - I saw this book first at the TALES Reader Appreciation Event. I fell in love with it. I won it. I plan to read it as soon as I finish my current book. I will not give my copy away, but I would love to support the author by minimally buying a copy of her book on Amazon and sending it to one of you. Check it out. It looks magnificent.

The Hacienda - This book has been on my TBR for a long time. I have heard awesome things about it. So now, we get to read it.

The Three-Body Problem - While I have not watched the Netflix series beyond the first episode, it left me wanting to read the book. Here we are. Hopefully, it will be awesome.

Greenteeth - Now, I usually choose a book for more than the cover, but you know, the cover is magnificent and I hope the book is as well.

Seeds of Hope - I don't usually put nonfiction books. I felt like the year should end celebrating an incredible life by reading her work. Jane Goodall was an inspiration and I felt I needed to include her somehow.

Voyage of the Damned - Not only is the book beautiful, but it looks like a really fun read.

The rest are my books and I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.

🐈Kittens and Cats🐈 This is Alistair Duncan Toby Weatherly. As you can see, Andy and I were having some difficulty choosing the name. He is four months old and the newest member of our family. I think he is amazing. Andy thinks he is amazing. Ru thinks that the world sent her a small torture device on purpose because the universe hates her. But that is Ru's personality. I am sure that in a week, she will realize that there is another cat she can bully and she will be as happy as a clam. I am...

❄️East Coast Storms❄️ I have to admit that storms were in my brain this morning. Not in the way one would imagine. I worried about a giant storm all of last week. I waited with bated breath all weekend for disaster to strike. In my little corner of Asheville, North Carolina, not much happened. What did happen, which was lovely, was that schools closed. Andy, my partner, is a teacher. This meant I didn't have to wake up at 6:30 am. I slept in, grateful for the gentle storm that struck us....

🎄A few more days left of 2025!🎄 This is my final newsletter of 2025. A new year is almost upon us. My year will be busy. I have book ambitions and work ambitions. Travel will happen. For many of us, 2025 was a hard year. I am hoping that next year will be a lot better. I hope everyone is staying warm and drinking lots of tea. Maybe hot chocolate too. It is that kind of weather. My Christmas was quiet and sweet. My New Year will be the same. I feel I am hiding from what's to come. For now, I...
