So... we are still with Kit. I guess substack didn't like my giveaways or that most of you came from BookFunnel. It also didn't like BookFunnel, so for now, we will be here. Still, I do want to get us into Substack, while still maintaining a place for the BookFunnel Promos and my giveaways. I want to be able to add more to the content and build conversations, the book club and more.
With this in mind, if you don't want to be in Substack, please unsubscribe. I can slowly begin to move us over, if Substack understands that everyone here has approved to be here. I need your help for that.
Thank you so much for being a part of my community and joining me in all of these changes. Since the days of Kindle Vella, I have been trying to find my footing, sometimes with little success. I feel like I am finding a way to grow with this in mind.
🧙♂️Returning Home🧙♂️
It has been a good return home. I loved being in Ireland and France, but there is nothing quite like sleeping in my own bed and returning to my routine. I am very excited to be doing that. It has been good to catch up with my game and my bunnies. My kitties missed me. Alistair keeps following us around, nervous that we will depart again. For the first time, I am beginning to feel Ru feels like an older kitty at eleven. Alistair turned one last week. I don't think he cared either way, and is still jumping on his sister all day long.
My brain is also returning to writing. I need to organize myself, and I have a to-do list longer than a day. It is slow going. There will be book announcements soon. I know, I always say that. 😂
Today's newsletter is an effort to return to the every-other-Monday routine.

🍂October - Almost Time For Witches🍂 Welcome to another Monday newsletter. We are still in Kit and will be for a while. It is October, and I am excited for fall. I celebrated a Harvest Festival on Saturday in the middle of a gentle hurricane. It was lovely. There are always moments to pause and think about the weather. Asheville is privileged to have very gentle weather. And then there was Helene. We still haven't fully recovered from that experience. In the midst of the craziness that is my...
🍂New Beginnings🍂 It is not Monday. It has been six weeks since the last newsletter. I apologize for that. I do have a good excuse, sort of. First, I got confused about the day it was supposed to come out. It was supposed to be a week earlier. Then, the day I thought was right, I ended up fighting with Kit, my email company. I couldn't send emails, and I was heading out of town the next day. I panicked, complained to everyone, but by the time I heard a response, I was on a plane to the other...
🐰Existential Crisis🐰 This will be a bit of a long email. For those of you who are new subscribers, it usually isn't that long. For those of you who want to skip my essay, please scroll down to the giveaway and BookFunnel free book deals. I realized I am in deep grief and frozen because of the changes that AI has brought to my field. As a media professional, there is no aspect of my job that hasn't been affected. I have been participating in a workshop on facilitating story work, working with...
