For two and a half weeks, I struggled with the worst cold ever. By day 9, the doctors decided I did not have COVID, RSV, or the Flu. I got some antibiotics, and that made life better. I could breathe, and my brain didn't feel like mush.
Then, the slow movement back to normal. I am not there yet. But for two days, I have been able to function normally. I still run out of breath much too easily. I am happy to be on the mend.
In the midst of the cough medicine-infused dreams of the last three weeks, I dreamt in story. Time travel. Space adventures. It is time for me to start working on my books again. My soul calls out, and my unconscious builds what I haven't done during the day. I am inspired.
I don't know how other people's creativity works. Mine is a bit of a pain. I require doing art, playing music, listening to music, and other creative pursuits to prep the engine to be able to write. It feels like it is a two-to-one recipe. I have to be creative and play for two hours to be able to really write one. It is not very efficient.
This wake-up from the deep sleep of illness has made me remember yet again, for the hundredth time, how deeply important it is for me to tell stories. In the next newsletter, I will make sure to have news to share about the books.

The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi - The new book is coming out. I hadn't read this one. It was recommended, and it looks great.
The Calamity Club - This just looks like a fun book.
All Systems Red - I have never read Martha Wells. I should read Martha Wells. The eighth book in this series comes out this month. I accidentally paid for another month of Apple TV, so I might as well read the book before I watch the series.
Seek the Traitor's Son - The cover looks great. The description looks great. I want to read it.
