I am in Seattle watching my son and daughter-in-law's dog and two kitties. As tends to happen when I come to visit my grandpuppy, I end up locked in an apartment, in a city that is unfamiliar to me, and mostly, socializing with a dog and two cats. They are lovely companions.
After a week, it is easy to get a little nutty. I binge-watch and binge-read while I am here. I binged the four seasons of The Morning Show. It is dramatic and very soap opera, and yet, there is something about the creation of that world that I loved.
My first job out of college was as an office manager for the International Women's Media Foundation. The organization was a pet project of very high-powered women journalists trying to support women in journalism. I think what I loved about the show was what I saw in the board of directors while I worked there. These were brilliant women who had fought hard for their success. They believed deeply in journalism as it should be. And yet, they had to maneuver pressures of ratings, money, and special interests. When they stepped away from the performance required by their job, they were very human. They wanted to support other women so much, and yet, it was complicated. I saw this world represented beautifully in this series.
To contrast the high-powered world I am enjoying on television, I am reading through the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. What makes this series work is the incredible characters, especially Princess Donut.
My bunny castles keep giving me ideas about what else I can do with them. I like them as my theme and image. I need to give form to each of the six characters. More to come.
I am still actively correcting the next Indefatigable Five book.

🐰Return to Normal🐰 I am back home and trying to catch up with everything I left behind. Something happens when I go to Seattle to grand puppy sit. It is as if as the days progress, my brain slowly melts. I become one with my son's incredible television and end up watching all sorts of series from beginning to end. By the end of the three weeks, I had watched: The Morning Show, Big Little Lies, Shmigadoon, Little House on the Prairie (the new one), Lessons in Chemistry, and I have a feeling...
